monta－Is it over（个性音乐）

[color=Sienna][size=5]很多人第一次知道Monta(蒙他？)都是通过田原的博客。她在7月份的一篇日志里大荐了Monta的专辑Where Circles Begin。在经历了06，07全球性 indie pop/rock/folk大爆炸的两年，我打赌独立音乐粉丝们肯定对“indie”这个词都麻木了，症状严重点的肯定一听这个词就发憷。
　　
　　好在田原的音乐品味保证了她的推荐没有失了水准。网络的自由推荐，转载让Monta的知名度开始在各大非主流音乐论坛升温。某一天，几乎所有下啦啦，花边下，from summer的常客似乎都学会了深情演绎那首最著名的I'm sorry。
　　
　　话说回来，Monta确实是inide界一个不可多得的人才。其实这个不知何意的monta是德国籍英国人Tobias Kuhn 一个人撑起的乐团。这个相貌平平的Kuhn是另一个德国乐队Miles的主唱兼吉他手。Miles组建于1992年，当时Kuhn正在德国的Wuerzbery大学念书，然后遇到了喜好独立音乐的 Mike Silver 跟 Ronny Rock，之后一切就顺理成章了。乐队组建不久并自制发行了一张同名EP。1997年签约德国一家唱片公司并发行首张专辑The Day I Vanished。1999年出产第二张专辑，名字不详。两张专辑后乐队影响力逐渐扩大，由欧洲日本波及到了美国。2001年美国的独立音乐厂牌Feel Records签下了该乐队并于次年夏天发行了一张精选集Structure Vs. Happiness。
　　
　　撇开Miles乐队不说，Monta应该算是Kuhn的一个solo project。2003年Monta发行第一张EP-Always Altamont，干净优美略带一点sadcore的独立流行风格从此确立。之后Monta总是作为配角给 Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, Elbow, Naked Lunch 等乐队做助阵演出。2005年，Monta终于带来了一张一鸣惊人的Where Circles Begin，这是一张完全可以进入史上最动听独立流行前十名的作品（仅代表个人意见）。两年后的The Brilliant Masses依旧保持原风格，贡献了诸如Good morning stranger之类的名曲，但并没有大的突破（事实上可以听出来Good morning stranger这首歌副歌部分被i'm sorry附了体）。
　　
　　主唱的Kuhn的声线跟Death Cab For Cutie相似度达到了90%，都是比较适合演绎小indie作品的嗓子，干净，温和，有一点内敛，带一些青涩，很家常，因此让人听着舒服，并且“有一点动心”。Monta的歌词写得跟他的声音也是绝配，简洁却不粗浅，平白中又透出一点小意蕴。Farewell dear ghost中那句“i never saw his face/cause he left for resurrection”总让我忍不住为这小机敏的歌词偷笑一下。[/size][/color][wmv]http://www.sgnet.cc/images/2007-12/19/041204191010812289654.mp3[/wmv]
